I am sure we have told everyone about the weather in Chengdu. We tend to have hot/humid summers and cold/wet winters. It can be rough because there are many days we go with out ever seeing the sun or even the blue sky. We rarely have big puffy white clouds in the sky. It is always a blanket of thick white/gray clouds hovering over us. It can really wear you down. One thing that has been good is it allows us to appreciate when we do have a beautiful day or when we get to see the sunrise or sunset. When we were in the states, the kids and I would talk about how neat it is to be able to see the clouds take shape or even get to see the the moon and stars at night. One morning this past month, Chris got up and called me down to see the sunrise. We had to take a picture! It is amazing the little things in life that we take for granted. Thank you God for giving this day and every other day you have given us even when the clouds are grey! If anyone is reading this and is in one of those places were you get to see the moon, stars, or sunrise and set, be thankful and embrace the beauty of God and that he gave you the opportunity to see His beauty!

My mom, Maely, and I made it with no problems and no delays!! It was good to see my family as well as my Dad. My parents were only staying for one week so after we regrouped, we did some site seeing. One day, we went and got a foot massage for 110 minutes and it was incredible. We took Cohen with us and he watched DVD and ate watermelon while the adults had our feet clean and massaged. Another day we went to the Wide and Narrow street where we had delicious Indian food. I will say a benefit to living overseas is giving the kids more opportunity to try new food from all over the world. The kids love Indian food, especially Avery. I just hope I can afford to eat at those places when we go home. Attached is a picture of us at the Indian restaurant. We also went to an Ancient town called Lou Dai. My Dad actually wanted to try some crazy food there. They had scorpions, larvae, crickets, roaches, and other stuff on a stick. My Dad decided to try the scorpion since he had already eaten the larvae when in Vietnam. He said it tasted like crispy chicken. I would have never tried it, but he did! Here is a picture! We had a great summer with my parents. They were troopers with us and our clan! I think they really got to know their grandkids and that meant alot to all of us. When they left, the kids were all sad, but Avery was really sad. The school even called me that day they left because Avery was acting sad and depressed. They wanted to make sure nothing major was going on at home. She really missed having them around and understands the amount of time that will pass before she sees them again. The goods news is we got to spend time with them and I hope my parents enjoyed as much as we did. Look in our web gallary for more pictures!

Aubrey says goodbye to USA

Well it has been a good summer to say the least. I came on June 6 to Oregon and will leave on Sept 6, exactly 3 months. We truly had such a wonderful time in Oregon hanging with my parents and brother's family. My parents really helped out tremendously and I would have never been able to do it without them. The kids had a great time doing all the outdoors things there and loved hanging with their boy cousins. We will probably never get an opportunity like this in our lives again. It was truly a blessing! I grateful to such a wonderful family. I confess I am anxiuos about going back to Chengdu, but I am excited to see my husband and the rest of my kiddos. It is time to go back. So my mom, Maely, and I will pack our bags and head to Chengdu. Who would of thought we would move to China as a family of 4 and 2 years later have a family of 6! I know God is just laughing at me as I manage to make it in this life. Thanks everyone for a great summer! See you next summer!!
