We go to the Oregon Coast with GrandB

We did not skip a beat with Grand B. We got to do all the Oregon things you are suppose to do except go hiking. We went to a winery, to the coast, ate clam chowder, saw a lighthouse, went lavendar picking, and so much more. The day we went to the coast it was quite chilly to say the least but we had a good time. Our first stop was Mo's seafood restuarant where we had clam chowder, then we went and saw the Oregon's devil punch bowl, and then lastly we went to see the lighthouse and walked on the beach. The beach we went to was different then past ones, it had black rocks on it instead of white sand. The kids had fun showing Grand B Oregon!! We then drove home and had quiznos for dinner. Grand B comes to visit us in Oregon!!

Grand B (Chris's mom) came to see the kids and our new precious arrival. We did not waste anytime seeing the sights of Salem. Grand B came in Friday night and Saturday we spent the morning going to the Salem Saturday market and then hung out at the house enjoying Maely. Sunday we headed to church and then went to a Winery that has a Sunday brunch. We had homemade waffles with fresh berries on it and eggs Benedict. It was yummy and the scenery was beautiful. The kids even tried to play horse shoes. After that, Grand B had seen a sign that said you pick lavender. So we decided to try it out. The person that owned the place was also an artist and had her own studio. Grand B loved it and her property was picturesque. The children enjoyed themselves swinging on her swing, playing on the hammock, and helped cut lavender. Here are some pictures. I will put some more in our web gallery.

Our little girl arrives into this world!!!

Tuesday, July 20,2010 at 5:42 pm, the Clover family welcomed our little girl into the world. She weighed 6 lbs, 12 ounces and is 19.75 inches long. Aubrey was induced that morning and the labor went well. We had a tough time naming her when she came. We were choosing between Chaney Mae Clover and Maely Claire Clover. We took a vote with the nurses, ask family members opinions, and finally flipped a coin many times!! We ended with Maely Claire Clover. We hope you like it. Her first name is after my middle name Mae and Claire is from Chris's great aunt. We have many pictures and here are some. She is so precious and so little. We have never had such a small baby in our house! The girls adore her and want to hold ever chance they can get. Grandparents have had less time with her than with her big sisters. They love her so much. Cohen is excited as well, but we have to watch his little fingers because he gets too excited!! We had her at the Salem Hospital in Salem Oregon. She was also welcomed by her grandparents and Aunt Melanie and Uncle Aaron as well as her two cousins Lucas and Jacob. I will post more pictures in our web gallery. Please enjoy!!

Chris comes home!!

After 6 weeks of being apart, Chris has come home!! He arrived in Portland Oregon at around 6:30 pm Thursday night and we were so excited. The girls and I drove up with my dad to pick him up. He was tired, but the glad to see us. Avery and Rylan could not stop talking the whole way home which was an hour drive. We are glad to have him home and no baby yet! We are planned to have our baby on Tuesday, July 20 if I do not go into labor early. We will keep you posted!!

Avery looses her front tooth!

There are many things that take place as our kids get older and you realize that they are growing too fast. One of those things is when they loose their front teeth. For me, that occurred this past Tuesday, July 13, when Avery lost her front tooth. She was so excited! Most of her friends have already lost their tooth so she was happy. Papa and I took some pictures of him taking her tooth out with 18 inch channel lock plyers, but seriously her tooth got so loose, it just came out on its own. I just put a napkin up there and it came out!

We love to Berry Pick!!

It is so fun to pick berries up here because the weather is perfect! No sweating and kids complaining of the heat! Today, we went cherry, rasberry, and blueberry picking. It went well however we were not able to pick very many rasberries but we had fun eating them. The kids loved the ability to pick while they eat. The girls also liked the cherries and they all loved the blueberries. It took Cohen a while to not pick the green blueberries. He mostly liked taking Mommy's berries out of her bucket and putting them in his so he could eat them. The girls were really good at picking and we have enjoyed eating them! Enjoy our pictures

Joel's family comes to visit!!

Joel and his family just recently moved to Vancouver, Canada. Before they settled in fully to their new place, they decided to come see us!! It was a treat to have the family together with 7 little children running around under 7!! We have felt fortunate to be able to see them twice in one year as well as hang with Aaron's family for the summer. They were here for 4 days and we kept busy. We went to an outdoor concert, played in the water many times (hot tub, pool, waterslide, and waterpark), played all kinds of pretend things with cousins, and even face painted the kids faces compliments of Krista-Dawn. The kids ride their bikes!

Papa and Grammy have some spare bikes for the kids to ride while they are here. Avery learned to ride here bike in China, but got frustrated because she kept running into people. Where we live there is no open streets to ride on so she has to ride on the compound with lots of curves and just walkways. We thought it would be good to fine tune her skills and she has done really well! Rylan still is riding a with training wheels but is having fun. Of course after we brought out the bikes, Cohen wanted one. Mommy thought if she bought a scooter and his own helmet he would be satisfied. It only worked for a little while. Cohen thinks the bike Rylan is riding is his as well as the helmet she wears. He cries and those a temper to want to ride it. I took a video and will try to upload it. He thinks he is so old and can do everything his sisters do!! Do we have a big job ahead of us!!

The 4th of July!!

We had a busy weekend with Papa's birthday and going to the Kroc Center as well as hiking so we decided to hang low on Sunday. We made barbeque beef sandwiches with banana pudding for dessert! We also went to church and then went to Aaron and Melanie's street for a firework show. It was fun but nothing like China! It is against the law to have any fireworks go up in the sky, but we had fun!! Enjoy the pictures

We go Hiking in the Northwest!!

It is so nice when your up in Oregon to take a short hike through the woods and enjoy all the beautiful greenery as well as the fresh air!! I wish I could bottle it up and take it with me to China especially on those days when the air and the clouds are so thick! We had a good time. Papa carried Cohen on his back with a backpack, but only seemed happy if another kid was on someones back. He wanted to hike himself but it was just too hard with the rocks and narrow trail. We ate by the river, where all the kids loved to throw rocks into the river. After lunch, we hiked a little more where there was a beautiful waterfall with some big rocks. Cohen was determined to climb the side of the rock like all the big kids. He would not take no for an answer! Papa guided him and he climbed up it!! We go to the Kroc Center!

My dad's birthday was Friday, July 2 so my brother's family and I decided to this indoor swimming pool one day. The kids and Papa had a blast. Avery even took Papa down the waterslide. We then had a barbeque kebabs (Yummy). It was a good day. Tomorrow we are off to go hiking. We have to get in one hike before this baby comes!!
