Avery's pre-K Graduation

The time has come to see our oldest, Avery, graduate from pre-K and prepare for kindergarten. It saddens my heart to realize that she will no longer be home with me and the 5 years that we had her home are about to be gone. It really does seem like yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital. I remember thinking I was not sure if I know how to be a mom and especially a mom to a sweet little girl, but God has enabled me and I would not trade being a mom to her in million years. She is such a bright girl with so much to offer this world. My prayer is that Avery would come to know her savior at a young age and walk in his ways. I pray that God will protect and give her strength as she begins kindergarten at our local school here and eventually in Chengdu, China in December. This coming year will be a big year of changes, starting school, having a baby brother, and possibly moving to China in December. I pray we will all look to our Savior for dependence and strength.

Our Trip to Disneyworld

We did it!! We took our family to Disneyworld and it was a blast. I must admit I was concerned our girls might be too young to enjoy it, but I was wrong. They loved it!! We got to go to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. They were able to ride most the rides and the girls even went on a kiddie rollercoaster all by themselves!!! They loved the parades and clapped constantly for the fireworks. It was so much fun to see there amazement and excitement with all the happenings. Disneyworld sure is a special place through the eyes of a child. It was such a joy and Avery (oldest one- 5) said this was the best vacation she had ever had!! We stayed at a Disney resort (The Caribbean) and the girls had fun at the pool and playing in the sand. We also were able to have breakfast with Minnie and friends as well as eat lunch with the princesses. Rylan was a little reluctant with the animal characters, but warmed up to the princesses by the end of the week. She loved Belle (it is her favorite princess and Avery likes Cinderella). We found out the sex of our baby!!

Well, yesterday was the day we found out what we would be expecting to come on September 27, 2008. Our girls said without a doubt we would be having a little boy. I had my doubts with already having two little girls. It is hard for me to imagine having a boy. I tried to prepare them for the chances that we would most probably have a girl, but I was wrong. Sure enough when we went into the ultrasound room. The tech said it was definitely a Boy!!! Once we saw him, there was no mistake. Chris says he always had a sense it would be a boy. Now we have a lot to do...new bedding, clothes, and now have to come up with a name. It will sure be a new adventure. We asked how our oldest, Avery, felt and she said it made her Happy!!!

First time to have a Blog!!!

This is my first time to write or have a blog. My very sweet friend (Christine) made one for me to help me keep in touch with friends as we may be preparing to move to Chengdu, China. I am thankful to all my friends (Kim, Neysa, Patricia, Melinda, Jennifer, April,and Christine) for making my 32 birthday so sweet. They had dinner for me (fajitas--love it), let me talk about my thoughts on China, and then had a sweet prayer time for me. It was a special time for me and I thank them for encouraging me as our family prepares for a new arrival of a little one and as we prepare for the possible move to China. I will miss them greatly and get sad just thinking about it, but remember that nothing will separate us from the love we have for each other and the special bond we have in Christ.
